Piano Lessons

At Troutner Piano Studio, we. . .

Picture

CREATE

We learn to read music  & play artistically.  We also learn to express our own musical ideas at the piano through composing, arranging & improvising.

COLLABORATE

Solos are important, & we learn showy ones!   But we also have many opportunities to play together in groups, through piano duets &  rhythm ensembles.

GAMIFY LEARNING

We play a huge variety of music-learning games in lessons, during lab, in home practice, & at Piano Club.  Fun learning sticks!

SHARE

We share our music in a mix of informal & formal performances: Piano Club, recitals, & Festival.

Private Piano Lesson + Lab

In their weekly private lessons, students learn to read music, play the piano expressively, & compose music of their own.  Engaging music & off-the-bench games make learning fun!

Learning is extended in the studio lab, where students learn about composers, play music theory computer games, or complete projects at the digital piano.

Piano Club Group Classes

A few times per semester, we meet in Piano Club small group classes.  After each student performs, we build our skills through fun music theory games, ensembles, & other hands-on activities.  Each Piano Club group includes 3-6 students of similar age & level.

Summer Piano Camp

At a past summer camp, we explored rhythm & chords with a variety of fun activities, like bucket drumming,  improvising, cup tapping, boomwhacking, & playing lots of music theory games.
